Welcome to my web site, and thank you for visiting.

Here you may view samples of my work covering a wide array of subjects, mediums, and styles from as early as 1980 through the present. Most of my drawings are from the pages of my sketchbooks. They are my daily visual diary of the things I see in me and others, as well as the news that deeply affects me, such as depicting the victims of war. I have tried to portray the side effects of war, the loss of life, the survivors of bombings that suffer from physical and emotional attachments, and the poor state of returned soldiers whose numbers are steadily rising. By creating my War Series, I am joining other voices to stop the wars: anywhere by anyone upon any one.

I am often amazed that despite all the bad that comes out of and onto humanity, such as wars, the oppressions, and natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods, that human beings still pick up the remains and try to survive and go beyond their current reality. And this urge to continue on, despite often severe physical and mental shortcomings, is one of the essential elements that appear in my art.

I also seek to illustrate the beauty of life in this journey of mine, as well as the beauty in humanity and of nature. The colorful splashes of color on my canvases are to exhibit the side effects of love, peace, happiness, and harmony. As it has been carried in the mind of some of the figures in my art and in my own mind, these colors are flickers of hope for a better day for every single person…and me.

Working on the painting "Hope" (48x36"; 122x91.5cm). This painting was created after a drawing I completed some time ago. Despite all the negativity, and all the ups and downs that life brings, there is a sense of hope for a better future that makes people survive the conditions they're in and moves them to carry on. The figure in the painting, with its full anatomy, is the essence of, and in harmony with, this hope in the mind of the majority of the faces on the bottom of the painting.

Also working on the painting in the background called "Sabine Du Cap Ferrat" (56.5x32"; 143.5x81cm). This painting was started in Saint Jean Cap-Ferrat, which is located between Nice and Monaco on the southern coast of France, while visiting Liesel, Richard, Milo, Jennifer, Sabine, Anna, and my belated friend Klause. Thanks to them.
